Empower girls. Transform futures.

Empower girls.
Transform futures.

Your donation transforms futures. SIMpowering is dedicated to ending period poverty and empowering young girls in Tanzania. With your help, we provide menstrual education, sewing workshops and break down taboos — ensuring every girl can stay in school and thrive.

A solvable crisis with devastating effects

For millions of girls in Tanzania, a natural biological process is a primary driver of educational inequality. This is not just a health issue - it's a barrier to a girl's entire future. Addressing menstrual health is key to unlocking equal opportunities for education and empowerment.

Education Disruption

Girls without proper menstrual products often miss up to 4–5 days of school each month — leading to learning gaps and higher dropout rates.

Health & Dignity

Without safe hygiene materials, many resort to unsafe alternatives which can lead to infections and embarrassment.

Breaking the Silence

Cultural taboos make it difficult to discuss menstruation openly. Through community advocacy, we’re helping normalize these conversations.

Your Donations in Action

Thanks to our generous donors and local partners, thousands of girls have received education, reusable pads and the support they need to thrive in school.

Our Partner: A Bleistift FOR EVERYONE

SIMpowering collaborates closely with Igoma C Primary School and Shamaliwa Secondary School in Mwanza, Tanzania. Together with our partner A Bleistift, we’ve implemented menstrual health education programs, set up a sewing community and created a supportive environment for young girls. The school has seen a decrease in absenteeism and a rise in confidence among students.
